1. Note why Goffman, Foucault, Bourdieu and Hall are considered transitional figures in the development of sociological thought. (You may find the terms at the ends of the chapters to be helpful). 
2. Which of these four social thinkers “made sense” to you? Did you find that you favor one more than the other? Why? 
3. Respond to “New Paradigms, Old Themes” (found in the concluding chapter), and identify which one addresses your sociological interest(s) and give a brief explanation.
